We care for our country park
Here you can learn about our latest initiatives and their progress. From removing invasive plant species in the Lake to restoring historic quarry structures using traditional slate materials, our efforts aim to protect the area’s biodiversity and industrial landmarks. We’re also enhancing accessibility through trail improvements and innovative location markers.
Current projects
Highlighted below are key projects we’re collaborating on with various organisations to conserve and enhance this beautiful park’s natural environments and historical assets. Please be aware that there are sometimes minor interruptions to accomodate the work being carried out.
Curly Pond Weed removal
We’re working alongside Natural Resources Wales to remove this invasive species from the lake.
Llewyrch o’r Llechi programme
With support from UK Government, we will be building a new toilet block, restoring the A incline, bringing back the Fire Queen locomotive, and restoring Hafod Owen and the structures within Vivian Quarry.
Park maintenance

Volunteer at Parc Padarn
Although we operate with just a small, dedicated team, our passion for preserving Parc Padarn runs deep. Maintaining and enhancing this extraordinary natural space is a labour of love that we could not accomplish alone. That’s why we’re always eager to welcome new volunteers who share our commitment to sustaining the area for generations to come. With enthusiastic community support, Padarn Country Park can truly thrive as the regional treasure it is.
